Diane Kane will be joining us at Septembers Luncheon.
Diane Kane has been a storyteller forever. Growing up, she told stories to keep younger cousins entertained and to put her babysitting charges to sleep. Putting those skills to good use as a teacher for 40+ years, she was introduced to Biblical Storytelling by her pastor in 2006.
Currently, Ms. Kane is the chair of the Sanctuary for the Arts at Webster Presbyterian Church. A sanctuary is a safe place—for artists to hang religious (and secular art), a safe place for discourse about difficult topics where creative endeavor is valued, and where thinking outside the box is accepted and encouraged. SFTA began as Visual Arts Ministry, not unlike UBC’s Illumination Arts Ministry. When artists outside the visual arts—poets, musicians, dancers, storytellers, playwrights—came to us, we expanded our mission to provide space and time for all artistic endeavor, an oasis for creative people.
Ladies’ Luncheon meets in Herrington Hall at 11:15am
