Two day classes are held Tuesday and Thursday. Three day classes are Tuesday through Thursday. Four day classes are Monday through Thursday. All classes begin at 9:00am and end at 2:30pm.

  • Pre-k classes: Three day classes or Four day classes

  • Kindergarten Classes

Children at all levels are learning things to help them build a strong foundation in their hearts and minds. Our preschoolers are learning pre-reading and pre-math skills. The children are building a spiritual foundation to help them understand who God is and HIS love for them. They learn that God loves them and has created a beautiful world for them. God gave them families to care for them. They learn that Jesus is special because He is God’s Son, who came to live and to die for them so that they might live forever with Him in Heaven. They are taught to treat others with kindness and respect, just as Jesus did.

First Baptist Academy (FBA) is excited to be able to offer classes suited to the needs of many families!  This school year will have 2 day, 3 day and 4 day classes so that families can find what suits their lifestyle.

Every class has music and movement twice a week to help develop large and small motor skills. Research shows us that music is an essential part of language development in early childhood.  The teachers also help the children learn through music in the classroom.

Every class spends time playing outside or in the gym every day.  The children need free play time to develop social skills, creativity, as well as coordination skills.  Children learn better when they have time to run and play before and after concentrated learning times.

FBA will offer 2 toddler classes. One class will meet on Monday and Wednesday, while the second class meets on Tuesday and Thursday.  Families will have 2 options to decide which class time best suits their schedule. If a family needs a 4 day option the children can attend both the MW class and the TTH class.  Each class will focus on verbal development through art, music, play, stories, and social interaction.  The children begin learning pre-reading and pre-math skills to help prepare them for school.   The children work on large and small motor skills as they do many different activities throughout the day.

Discovery Twos class is an adventure in learning!  The children discover more about themselves and their surroundings.  They continue to work on verbal development by describing their world and themselves.  The teachers support the parents in potty training the children.  The children learn as they play!  The children continue to work on pre-reading and pre-math skills essential for a successful student.  The two year olds meet three or four days a week to optimize their learning opportunities.

Readiness Threes are ready for more classroom learning.  The children spend time sitting and listening as well as learning through play.  The children work on learning to sort, one to one correspondence, patterning, and other pre-math activities.  They also spend more time learning pre-reading skills, to prepare them for school.  Three-year olds are active learners, even though they spend more time learning the 3 Rs, it is done through learning adventures and music! Classes are offered 3 or 4 days a week.

Pre-kindergarten (Pre-K) children are almost ready for school! The teachers teach many things through art, music, and movement. Four and five year olds can sit still for 3-5 minutes, and so they are expected to sit and listen for short periods of time. The children learn to read some sight words, as well as sound out some words. Pre-k has an enrichment teacher that works with every child on their level.  Some children are reading while others are learning to write their names.  The enrichment class celebrates each child’s gifts while helping them to grow and learn.  Classes are offered 3 or 4 days a week.
