Words of Glory

Every so often in Scripture, characters or writers interrupt themselves to talk about how great God is. We call these passages “doxologies.” The word comes from doxa, meaning “glory” and logos, meaning words, so it literally means “words of glory.” Why does this happen? People who really know God can’t stop talking about Him. They long for you to know Him, because knowing Him is the meaning of life. As we encourage our people to connect with God, this series will help them see why that’s so important.

Part 1: He Stoops to Conquer

Before Jesus was born, Mary spoke these words of praise and prophecy. She praised the God who sits high but pays attention to lowly people like her, while standing opposed to those who trade in pride, power, and greed.
