Praying Like the Master: Part 2
Our Father
Praying Like the Master - Part 2 - The Lord’s Prayer wasn’t intended to be something we repeat from memory—Jesus specifically tells u not to do that in Matthew 6, and He never prays this exact prayer at any other time. Instead, it’s a model for us to follow, showing us the parts of a well-rounded prayer life. The first two words show us that Jesus doesn’t want us to think of prayer as submitting requests to a distant King (or especially as magic words to get divine favors). Instead, it’s a conversation with a Father who already loves you. How do we turn our prayer from awkward to conversational?

The Sermon on the Mount is often acclaimed (even by non-Christians) as the greatest moral teaching ever presented. It dares us to dream of the world-changing things that could happen if we began to walk like Him.
If we are the Temple where redemption happens, what is our plan to draw people to Him? The answer is to relearn an ancient, almost forgotten practice: Hospitality. In a time when loneliness is an epidemic, when few people know their neighbors, something as simple as a meal together can be the starting place for something beautiful to happen.
