Praying Like the Master - Part 5 - After teaching us to pray for Heavenly things, Jesus now teaches us how to pray for earthly things. This is how to come to Jesus for the needs of your heart. Why do we need instruction on this most basic idea? Psalm 81 shows that God wants to give us all the good things we need and more, but we forget our dependence on Him and turn to idols. If we come to Him in humble dependence, thinking of others as well (it’s “give us” not “give me”), seeking contentment in what He provides, we can live above the worry and stress of this world.
